From Endless Frontier to Enemy of the People: The Assault on Public Science (lawfaremedia.org)
nickpsecurity 10 hours ago [-]
What should always be side by side is how much money is flying around on the other side, that it pays many scientists, and how dissent isn't allowed. The best summary on the money part is below:

https://youtu.be/DOWTDDy6wlg?si=o0VVs4f4TBpPR7_A

So, the public was taught by liberals to not trust studies whose funders would make billions on what they promote. The public was told not to trust people who make lots of predictions that don't come true. Also, that the media is alarmist. All of this happens together with man-made, climate change and associated policy responses.

The media promoting it also promote other damaging things built on lies. So, there's a guilt by association effect, too. People start tuning out mentally.

So, the public has lost faith in organized science with big money behind it. As they should. The problems I cited will have to be admitted and dealt with. Then, science must run with the scientific method, dissent allowed, and money or politics minimized. If they do that, they'll be able to earn the publics trust again.

The worst part is, if their climate claims are right, their propaganda tactics... like pretending the other side is the only one about money... will be what put cities underwater. That and crying wolf way too many times.

Glancing at your comment history, I see you're already familiar with the concept of groupthink bubbles being extremely popular with people, and a big business. And you mention a wish to mitigate them. I'd hoped to write something more useful here, but it's very late, and drafts are just not gelling. So merely... I suggest the above comment provides opportunities for such mitigation.
